Let’s be real: being stuck at home without being able to shoot sucks. I had so many engagement shoots and central park elopement I was looking forward to, and I’m not sure they’ll all be maintained after the lockdown. The context is a bit scary and it has been tempting to ruminate about all the things I am currently missing about “regular life”.
To stay sane though I’ve been trying to make a conscious effort to focus on all the things I have been able to do. It had been a while since I hadn’t felt overwhelmed by my workflow; basically, shooting – editing – shooting – editing times infinity. Despite everything, it’s been nice to have something we usually always lack – time – and have space for non urgent things; experimenting with double exposure, working on my marketing or blogging about past clients. I had been wanting to do a post on these twos’ Central Park elopement for a long time; I hope it reminds you of how beautiful our city is when it’s virus free.
Emir, Ardiana and I hit Dumbo early one morning when the streets were still empty. We strolled the paved roads which – for once! – we had just for ourselves. Then, we took the subway (Ardiana still wearing her beautiful gown) to enjoy a sunny morning in Central Park. Our favorite spots were around the lake and the Bethesda fountain. Lucky us, Mother Nature gave us plenty of natural light to play with along the way. Not sure what was stronger: that, or their ‘we just got hitched’ glow 🙂
