It’s always such a honor for me to capture first pregnancies. That big jump, that big bump, the excitement, all make a perfect combo for emotions that I’m always looking for in photos. I know that this is a key moment of a couple’s life and I do not take that responsibility lightly. Danielle and Ryan living close to Prospect Park, we decided to do our maternity session in Park Slope one summer afternoon.
That day was particularly hot, and we ended up moving quite a bit during the outdoor part of the shoot^^ Total kuddos to the brave mama for barely breaking a sweat. Expecting couples always make fun of me when I insist on carrying their stuff during the shoot; but that’s because you already carry life and that I feel bad for making you move so much!
We managed to squeeze some indoor belly shots too, magnified by the beautiful natural light coming in their apartment. And that cute backyard! I’m the weird girl always looking for cute walls with interesting textures and this little nook totally filled my backdrop dreams. Sometimes you think a maternity session in Park Slope will have the best backgrounds but you end up making the best photos at your clients’ home. This might be one of those times haha.
