A Romantic NYC Couple
When Connor contacted me to capture his proposal on a Dumbo rooftop, I was immediately sold. Him and his girlfriend Jess had the cutest story and I couldn’t wait to see her reaction when she would see everything he had planned for their engagement.
The couple met in NYC four years ago. Because the city was the centerpiece of their relationship, it was important for Connor to propose here before they moved to the west coast.
An Engagement on a Brooklyn Rooftop
He came across this perfect rooftop space for rental in Dumbo and started planning. One of his friend was in charge of picking up pizza while another one was setting up the table and wine. It was their last weekend in NYC and they were celebrating their anniversary.
When they arrived at the rooftop, the table was set up and the pizza was waiting. Jess was so surprised! They sat and enjoyed some wine, the pizza, the spectacular view, and reminisced about their time together. Apparently they had been working on a bucket list of things they wanted to do in the city before they moved. At some point Connor said that there was one last thing in NYC he had to do; “Propose to my best friend”. He got down on my knee and asked Jess to marry him.
Meanwhile, hiding behind a door I was trying really, really hard to not be seen; and to keep my camera steady despite the emotional shakes. Damn! Definitely a Dumbo rooftop proposal for the books.
