An Outdoor Wedding with an Italian vibe
When Carlie booked me a year ago for her backyard wedding in the Hamptons, she mentioned a very small intimate wedding at her parents’ home. So when I arrived, I was kind of blown away to see a full on gorgeous garden party! Their caterer had prepared a beautiful, long table by the pool and their florist had made a splendid arch where they had their ceremony.
Carlie got ready with her sister and her mom, before walking down the aisle escorted by her dad. I could tell they were a tight tribe and most of their guests was actually family too.
When Carlie walked down the aisle, everyone’s heart skipped a beat and even Luke couldn’t help but shed a tear. The whole ceremony was actually quite emotional, as both their vows were some of the most heartfelt I’ve ever heard. It’s always my favorite part of the day, as vows say so much about the bride and groom as individual people and as a unit. There was not a dry eye in the house.
Bride and Groom Portraits at the Beach
After that, we drove the father of the bride’s vintage Ford truck and ended at the beach for some bride and groom portraits at sunset. Being a sucker for old cars, it was super fun to use it as our prop.
We ended the day with a beautiful reception in the garden, with Carlie and Luke’s first dance and the traditional cake cutting and guests’ speeches. I truly loved the intimate vibe of what they created. If there was an award for the best Hamptons backyard wedding of the year, these guys would 100% deserve to win it.
