Looking back at this maternity session in Fort Greene, Brooklyn, I realize how lucky we were to actually make it happen. Just a few hours after the shoot, I received a message from this beautiful curly-haired mama; their daughter had made her entry to the world! Thank you baby Ayla for waiting and arriving just in time!
Loryne and John were one loving couple if I’ve ever seen one; it was an easy breezy experience to capture this key moment of their lives. Loryne being a photographer, she knew how to pose and I barely needed to give them prompts to take cute photos. It’s always great to capture other photographers’ life events and collaborate on ideas! She saw things that I didn’t, while fully trusting me on where to go and what to do.
We walked around Fort Greene and its cute brownstones and stopped the traffic to take photos on the road (my specialty! haha). We then ended our maternity session with a little stroll in Fort Greene Park in Brooklyn. Living in the city, I always try to find nice parks for maternity sessions. I like to take sit down photos and add variety to the photos I’m gonna deliver. I love to shoot mamas’ bellies from the top for example, so they can remember what it felt like when they looked at it themselves 🙂
